This season has taken me a bit by storm and it’s hitting me that I am over whelmed a bit. In an effort to stay in the magic I will be scaling back on some of the projects I had originally hoped to work on. This will include the Small Business Circle previously advertised. We will resume in the fall when our busier season dies down at the store front.
I am creating summer products and listing them as they pop in the Etsy store for you. Etsy is raising their prices from 3% to 5% and includes shipping taxes. Also listing fees. This will impact every etsy seller and prompts everyone on the platform to consider changes. Prices will have to reflect the changing of the times on this end and with the store front hoping to stand tall on its own as I evolve into the next area of my work.
I hope you are all enjoying summer and take a look at my events tab for details on the other events we are hoping to still pop off!
It’s been a great 2 months that we’ve been open. The etsy store is still in full swing and all the new product that BethKaya rolls out with will get split between the store front and the etsy store. So if you are local you can come check out the latest in the line as well as all the new stuff for all the other brands the cove carries and if you are far you can shop etsy! I will also keep adding special intentional sets to etsy that are just exclusively for etsy.
So as we get an idea of what customers are enjoying both online and in the storefront, I am learning about the needs of each person. The single lady, the gym rat fella and the at home mama or papa. These dynamics are important to understanding whats happening and how I can help with the mission I am on. The mission is to connect people with products that are better for you and assist in your overall well being. I seek this for myself and my family.
Good morning from @selfcarecove
Eventually we will roll out a membership co-operative. I’d like to give wholesale access and some other incentives to those interested in joining the self care cove-op! (Cute isn’t it?) If you’d like a little more info on this subject email me at BETHKAYA AT GMAIL.com Subject: BETA CO OP and we can open up a dialogue.
Also we will have some faces other than Beth behind the counter. I’ll be sharing more info about our friends and team soon!

This has been my life’s passion and it means everything to have gotten this far and to have the support of the community. We have a suggestion box in front of the check out desk if you want to tell me about something you love or would like to see me carry at the store. We are also looking to host some support groups, open crafting hours, lectures and more in the space. Please look for BethKaya and Self Care Cove on social media / facebook & instagram.
Stay tuned for more to come with my Spring line up!
Greetings friends of BethKaya! It’s been a bit too long since my last check in before the holidays. Great News: We cleared all of our store inspections at last! This means we can start prepping and planning for the grandest of openings.
They’re back ⚡️
This has been SUCH a long road for me as a person to get to this point. Finally moving in and stocking the shelves with all of my favorite brands, it’s incredible. Stretching into new designs and birthing some new wonderful tones to fall in love with. Happy to be working with a great crew who is assisting with the pace and you will meet them soon on a bio page here but also in person at the store and in person at our events.
Speaking of events – We LOVE the Asbury Park Bizarre ! We signed up to do the Valentine Market! Details Can Be Found HERE and below.

Greetings! The holiday season is almost here! A time to share our gratitude and love for one another. Our focus has been creating the perfect bundles to help you care for your mind/body/spirit.
Give the gift to yourself and loved ones this season of self-care!
We are kind of going on tour! We have been working hard to prepare for some exciting events in Asbury Park this December with the store opening being so up in the air. We want to get the products in your hands however we have to do it!
December 10th and 17th, we will be returning to the Bazaar in Convention Hall for their annual holiday vendor event. The Indian Summer bazaar in September was a blast and we are anticipating this will be even more so. Grab some hot cocoa and join us for the fun!
On December 22nd, we will be in Asbury Park once again for a very special workshop. Keli Skellinger, the esteemed owner of Maitrisage – Massage + Reflexology, invited us to her monthly Sukha Series to share our wisdom and products right before Christmas. We decided to offer a relaxing bath soak and tea ritual that has been a staple of our daily self-care. For a $15 suggested donation, you will be able to create your own salts bath to take home! Bring your oils or use ours and we’ll bring the salt bar! We will have a table set up for the event as well, so it will be a perfect time to stock up on any last minute gifts. By the way, Keli is an amazing body worker – Asbury Park and Jersey Shore locals need to hit her up if you need the best massage you’ve ever had. She’s magical.
Be on the lookout soon for our upcoming store announcements. We have been creating a beautiful space in Brick Township to share with all of you. Our permits were released TODAY so that means it will be a few more weeks yet. Maybe December 1? We will see – I hope you’ll support us now and when we finally open. Our loyal patrons have been so wonderful! Until then, you will be able to shop online at https://www.etsy.com/shop/bethkaya
**If you are local, you can save on shipping and pick up your online order at the store! Just mention it in the comment section. We will refund/ or hold your shipping and arrange the best time for you to pick it up. Also, we ship ALL over the world and gift wrap, so if you want to beat the holiday rush at the post office, once the store is open, we can totally assist.
**Those ordering BethKaya goods online, please note that shipping times are 10-14 business days. Please take that into consideration when placing orders, we do high volume and there is only a few hands in the pot – we never want to rush our process. You all know by now that we treat each package really special and pack an experience into each one! Please reach out if you have gifting needs or if you need to rush your package past the queue.
Additionally we have holistic products galore in boxes waiting for our store to open. We have ALL of the best brands, BethKaya of course and names like Jason, Zum, Aura Cacia, Burts Bees, Doctor Bronner’s and More!
Contact Beth to set a budget and create a spa care gift set for you or a loved one this season. We will prepare it based on your tastes or the scents you think your loved ones would like and then package it beautifully and send it wherever you wish! You may call the store’s phone number also if you wish to speak to me or an associate about placing an order or visiting!

So if you follow us on social media you see a lot of changes we are going through as a business. For one I keep saying WE – yes we- I have a dear friend Michelle Russo who is flying copilot right now with BethKaya and the new venture – Self Care Cafe. She’s a beautiful soul, if you’re a friend of BethKaya, you know her by now but I will just formally say she is helping me keep my head above water. Along with several other players, you know who you are, and your time is coming. Thank you to everyone again and again for donating and supporting our self care mission!
We leased a space in Brick NJ and it’s adorable, the issues we are having getting into the space however, not so adorable. That’s an entirely different post and for all things considered, let’s keep the tone happy.
I just did a late season restock on some new soaps, scent sizes, crystal parcels and orgone pieces. As I have money invested into the store front – I simply need your support. Things I’ve been sitting on are going to need to get uploaded and move out! So stay tuned to the etsy shop and keep checking back. It will take time for us to get into the space and we need the online business to have the same level of dedication if not more to be able to keep this dream floating.
We are signed on to vend the Asbury Indian Summer Bazaar on Sunday Sept 24! I will be releasing more info about that in a little while but for now mark your calenders, it’s my birthday weekend btw so you simply can’t miss it! Not to mention tons of amazing vendors in the hottest spot on the jersey shore!
Additionally – the lovely Zoe Wilder has written a beautiful article about us again and it landed in Magnetic Magazine! Check it out here!
Also I know it’s late notice but it’s not too late to learn about this exciting spoken word movement called VERBATIM. Tomorrow evening I will be reading some poetry along with some wonderful features and following that will be an open mic. I would love to hear your words too! Here is more info! Please come!
My friends in Georgia all have kids starting school this week. Let’s hold onto what is left.
Sidenote : If you are local and want to come to a little underground spoken word movement we are starting – sign up for info here:

So it’s been about 2 months since I have checked in here. There is so much to say. Let’s start with I am feeling good. That’s a great place to be. This surgery was huge but also reminded me how small I am as well. A lot of surviving hardship is about “surrender” – a lot happens we don’t expect, and when we resist , it becomes even tougher. This time I surrendered and am very pleased with things.
The time I’ve had off to focus on self care has been wonderful. My soul feels like I gave myself the space and energy it deserved to get through this hurdle. The tumors came out clean, pathology came out great and I have spent my time resting, binging on a new found love for television and a reignited old flame, pinterest. I realised that I haven’t felt RESTFUL in so long. No wonder I was constantly anxious and stressed out.
This experience has been a shift and a gift. I hope you all enjoyed the instagram takeover from my dear friend Meri from @gardensofthesun
If you missed her residency here are some outtakes!
“The bug soap is my daughter’s absolute fave. She loves the subtle scent, the soft lilac color and how she can let it fly over the tub. Next up I hope to give her one of Beth’s golden buddha soaps! Has anyone tried those yet? – Meri”
“Bali life is pretty good. As in, it’s amazing. I’m grateful for every single second of it. And the tub is definitely a bonus When we still lived in Java I got dengue fever and typhoid a few times. You just get sick a bit easier here in the tropics. We didn’t have hot water for years, and when we left I knew I wanted to move to house with a bath for the days we get ill. When the soreness and the aching gets into your bones and your knuckles, and it hurts even to lie down, nothing is more relieving than a nice warm bath. And a little self-care on the weekends never hurts! – Meri”
“The salt scrub is my absolute fave. This is my third bag of the most divine smelling salts. Beth, you can never ever stop making these!!! -Meri”
“I’ve been a raving fan of BethKaya for several years now. I still remember my very first purchase from Beth – the warm vanilla fig perfume oil mixed with little rough gems. I keep coming back to this scent, it’s the one that got me hooked. Do you remember your first purchase from Beth? -Meri”
“The gemstones hidden inside the soaps are the best thing ever! It’s like a little surprise. The tumbled stone is slowly revealing itself from the Brandied Pear & Lemon Poppy Soap. Can you guess what stone it is? -Meri”
“How does Beth even dream up all these wonderful combinations?! I mean citrus, basil, vanilla and mint! Amethyst, lavender and orange! – Meri”
What a beautiful tone to return to!
I still need a few weeks to get my act and line up together. But my focus is centered on re-invigorated intentions – tones like Citrus, Ginger, Orchid, Artic, Mint , Guava, Coconut and Rain,. I will lean on those myself to get my physical capacity back up to where it once was again then design self care pearls for the shop.
On another note some; and by some I mean a “paraphrased few” of my words were published in an article “sort of” about self care in Refinery29 – you can find the article here:
It’s ironic that a little self pampering and love is exactly what I needed for so long considering this is what my offerings are rooted within. Sending you all the best the ides of march has to offer and thank you for many of your supports.
